Organization’s Vision
KREDA wants appropriate methods to attain social and economic justice. Peace and development in a society free from oppression by sex, class and race. It wants a society where poverty and all forms of oppression will be eliminated; basic needs of the poor, particularly the women and the children will become basic rights where each person will have the opportunity to develop his or her potential and creativity. Women will liberate themselves from subordinate status and determine priorities and make discussions where all individuals will exercise equal power, rights and responsibilities and enjoy equal social status irrespective of sex, caste and creed.
Organization’s Mission
The basic goal of KREDA is integrated and free development of all people with specific option for women and children. The main goal is to support and promote activities for all individuals, particularly for the women and children by identifying and solving their needs and problem along with their families and community of which they form an integral part.
Area of Operation
We are throughout Alipurduar & Cooch Behar District since inception of the organization.
Programme thrust areas in the above mentioned areas
In all block areas of the Alipurduar and Cooch Behar district.
Sectors of specialization
We are working on various sectors in this area. In Education sector we are engaged in the special education for the persons with disabilities, non-formal school for the children of CSW, education for old women etc.
With the assistance of UNICEF, Kolkata, CMOH, Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri we are organizing many programs such as HIV/AIDS awareness, Pulse Polio, Condom distribution etc. Also from organization source we are organizing STD Clinic at Changrabandha Brothel free of cost. We are providing Ambulance service in Kumargram and Dhupguri Block.
About 1100 S.H.G. are being promoted by our organization. Credit linkage and microfinance programme is also a part of S.H.G. promotion. Not only these we are providing skill development training with the help of CAPART, Bhubaneswar as we are working as Nodal N.G.O. of Jalpaiguri district under Special SGSY programme.
ISA under Alipurduar District under Jal Jeevan Mission Project, Solid Waste Management Unit, Liquid Waste Management Unit, Plastic Waste Management Unit, A Children home for Intellectual Disability Girls (CWSN), A Children home for Intellectual Disability Boys (CWSN), A home for Destitute / Orphan home for Girls under Cottage Scheme.
In the field of sustainable agriculture we have established production cum training unit of Vermicompost.
Current human resource
About 185 efficient staff engaged in this organization in various filed of work.
The communication with the grass root level people is very smooth. They help us as their best. We have good relation Panchayat functionaries, Block level officers, district administration, other Social welfare organizations, District Rural Development Cell, CMOH, Public Health Engineering Dept., Social Welfare Dept. Child Line and Pundibari Krishi Viswavidyalaya, etc.
