A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES

  1. A Children’s Homes for Intellectual Disability Girls (CWSN) under JJ Act:-

With the kind registration vide Memo No – 2915-SW/O/JJA-58/16 Dated 26thJuly, 2016 of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare Department, Bikash Bhaban, Salt Lake, Kolkata – 700 091 and Directorate of CRT, Govt. of West Bengal, we are organizing A Children’s Home for 50 Girls (CWSN) under J.J Act and with the kind admission order of Child Welfare Committee of different district, we are extending services as per J.J act & J.J Model Rules. On an average 54 (Fifty Four) inmates in the end of this financial Year  2023-2024, were under Care, Protection, Health, Education, Vocational Training, Nutrition, Food, Recreation etc. Also this scheme is under Mission Batsalya of Govt. of India.

As per revised Project Guideline under J.J act & Mission Batsalya guideline Trained, qualified, experienced staff is engaged. As per doctors’ advice, we provide medical support from the Rural Hospital, Kamakhyaguri, Tufanganj Mental Hospital, Alipurduar District Hospital, Cooch Behar Medical College & Hospital and also home attached doctors.

Member – Secretary, State Child Protection Society West Bengal & Director of CRT, Govt. of West Bengal is allotting funds as maintenance grant, Salary to staff, CWSN fund etc. both State & Central share, and the fund is being fully utilized for I.D Girls under JJ Act and under Mission Batsalya.

  • A Home for  Orphan/Destitute Girls under Cottage Scheme:-

Directorate of Social Welfare, govt. of West Bengal, Dept. of Women & Child development and social welfare, sector- I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata- 64, has kindly approved for establishment of Home for Destitute / Orphan girls under Cottage Scheme vide her Memo No.- 770/SWD, Dated 12th May, 2022 and License No – 3074 With the kind approval and kind license, we have setup Cottage Home for 100 Girls under ‘TOPOBAN HOME’ at Madhya Kamakhyaguri, P.O – Kamakhyaguri, Dist. – Alipurduar.

On an average, 69 (Sixty Nine) girls are under care, protection, education. The girls are educated into Kamakhyaguri Girl’s High school. Dakshin Kamakhyaguri Nimna Buniadi Vidyalaya, Kamakhyaguri MSK. Qualified trained staffs are engaged.

Director of CRT, Govt. of West Bengal, Dept. of women & Child Development and Social Welfare, Sector- I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata- 700 064 has giving fund for maintenance of Inmates, Salary of Staff and House Rent and the fund is being fully utilized for Orphan Girls under Cottage Scheme.

  • A Children’s Home for Intellectual Disability Boys (CWSN) under JJ Act:-

  • Child Labour Project under NCLP:-

With the kind approval of Project Director, Alipurduar District National Child Labour Project Society, Dist. Alipurduar. We are organizing two Child Labour School at Raydak under Raydak G.P & at Kamakhyaguri under Kamakhyaguri-I Gram Panchayat of Kumargram Block of Alipurduar district, As per Govt. project guideline of District Child Labour project society, Alipurduar, we are organizing the Programme for betterment of Child Labour and to reduce dropout rate of Child Labour in our society.

  • Sanitary Mart:-

As per kind approval of District Sanitation Cells under Zilla Parisad, both under Cooch Behar & Alipurduar District, KREDA is functioning as Sanitary Mart and with the financial assistance of Zilla Parisad, Panchayat Samity and Gram Panchayat under Kumargram, Alipurduar – I & II Block of Alipurduar District and Cooch Behar – II Block. We are engaged in Mission Nirmal Bangla Campaign. We are covering our sanitation coverage with the help of the project offices at Kamakhyaguri, Rydak, & Salkumar Hat, Total services are being covered through Regd. Office at – Taltala, Khagrabari, Cooch Behar. In this financial year, we have installed 612 Nos. Household Latrine under Alipurduar and Cooch Behar District, 24 Nos of ICDS Toilet under different gram panchayat areas under Alipurduar District and 10 Community Toilets with water supply under Alipurduar District. We established Solid Waste Management unit & Plastic Waste management unit under Volka –Barobisha-II GP & Kamakhyaguri-II G.P and training are regularly imparted to other stakeholders with the help of Alipurduar Zilla Parisad.

Time to time we have organized awareness programmes among the common people about the advantages of sanitation and SWM & LWM units.

  • Motivation cum Awareness camp for Senior Citizens:-

Through mobilizing fund from organization own resources, we have organized one day long Motivation cum Awareness camp for Senior Citizens at different pockets under Alipurduar district where Senior Citizens, spouses of senior citizens, Village leader, Panchayat representatives  were participated. Counselors, Doctors, Geriatric experts, Medical Officer, Social Workers are the guest lecturers in this camp. 

  • Memorable Day Celebration:-

Like Previous years, we have celebrated Foundation Day on 27th Sept, 2022 of our Organization, Independence Day, Republic Day, May Day, Rabindranath Jayanti, Gandhi Jayanti and Netaji Birthday with full decorum. In the Independence Day we have organized a special function including rally and paid homage to freedom fighters. In the evening we have organized a film show on biography of freedom fighters.

  • A  Home for Senior Citizen (Mixed Gender):-

To homage the Senior Citizens and  with a view to improve the quality of life of the senior Citizens and to support nutritious food to the needy & neglected senior citizens of our locality under Kamakhyaguri area, we are running A  Home for Senior Citizen (Mixed Gender) with the financial assistance of Members, well-wishers and our organization resources.  In this financial year 50 senior citizens are benefitted through this residential programme.

  • World Health Day Celebration:-

On the eve of World Health Day, we have celebrated World Health Day on 17th April 2022. Throughout the day, free medical checkup, free blood testing has done through our attached doctors. Also on that special day we have distributed physician sample to the poor patients those are attending the camp. Not only this service, our attached Doctors given advice to all for good physic and good health.

  1. World Environment Day:-

On the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June, 2022, we have observed the day with full decorum. In this day we have organized a special drive for environment clean taking fifty farmers under Kamakhyaguri-I Gram Panchayat area of Kumargram block also we have a rally with banners & posters in this area.

  1. Foundation Day:-

On 27th September, 1993 is the popular and glorious day in the journey of KREDA’s development i.e. memorable as a foundation day,27th September,2022 is most eventful to us that in this special day we have organized special function, debate competition, and essay writing competition, sports competition, song, drama, and dance competition. Also we have organized a film show through a CD for the activities of KREDA during 25 (Twenty Five) years.

  1. World Disabled Day:-

On the eve of World Disabled Day, we have also organized special function on 3rd December, 2023 under the TOPOBAN Home which situated at Madhya Kamakhyaguri, P.O – Kamakhyaguri, Dist. – Alipurduar, We have organized rally, meeting, awareness camp etc. taking the CWSN I.D Boy’s & CWSN I.D Girl’s under J.J. Act. Also we have distributed clothes to Physically Challenged Persons.

  1. Day and Night Ambulance Service:-

Ambulance services are provided to the common people of our working area. Alipurduar District is one of the poorest districts of our state. People live here in a hand to mouth condition and most of the disadvantaged people reside at tea garden area. They cannot bear even medicine cost. So when they fell into serious diseases they can’t go to the hospital from remote areas for their financial condition. Our Ambulance service is provided for those people. Recently, we are provided ambulance coverage under Kumargram block for pregnant women under Nischay Yan scheme.

  1. Vermi Compost Project:-

KREDA is engaged in farmers training programme, advocacy for construction of Vermi Compost Unit. Supply of vermin, Monitoring of Vermi Compost Unit under Alipurduar District. Many agriculture farmers have been benefited through this Govt. aided Programme.  We are regularly monitoring the Programme and follow up activities for the beneficiaries. We are engaged in selling of Vermi Compost. In this financial year.

  1. Awareness Camp on Anti Trafficking, Anti Dowry & Child marriage:-

Alipurduar& Cooch Behar District is the Girls Trafficking Zone of North eastern, keeping in mind, KREDA has organized awareness camp on Anti Trafficking, Anti Dowry & Early Child Marriage under Alipurduar & Cooch Behar district. The working area of KREDA is mainly at the border line of Bangladesh, Assam & Bhutan, where cross border trafficking incident of flying sex worker, marital disputes, sexually assaulted, mal adjustment of family or society are very common. Due to poverty, backwardness, social ostracism dowry & childhood marriage is day to day incidents at our society. Through these programme KREDA is trying to find out such problems of our society.

In this financial year we are covering the programme at Turturi, Hatipota and Rydak under Kumargram Block and closed tea garden areas and other prone areas.

  1. Camp on Child Rights & Protection:-

With the assistance of members, well-wishers, home staff we have organized a camp on Child Rights & Protection on 10th day of February, 2024 at the campus of “TOPOBAN” Home in which we invite legal guardians of child who are residing under the home. We discussed the topics on Child Rights & Protection & organize a film show for Child Right & Protection. Through the film show the guardians can understand child behavior, child psychology, child rights, child protection etc.

  1.  Awareness Camp on Drinking Water Wastage:-

With the assistance of members, well-wishers, engaged staff we have organized a camp on Drinking Water Wastage at the campus of “TOPOBAN” Home.  We invite water users from 5 (Five) pockets under Kamakhyaguri area. We discussed the topics on Water, Potable water, Uses of Water, Water pollution by users, Basic idea for water wastage etc.

  1. Integrated Rehabilitated for Addicts:-

With the help of Organization resources, we are continuing different types of services, i.e. Motivation camps, Awareness Camps, Treatment support, Food Support, Counseling support for the Addicts under Alipurduar District. Also we are supporting residential support free of cost keeping in mind to separate from family & other friends who assist them to take liquor and other poisonous drugs.

  1. Awareness for Divorced, Tortured Women and Red light areas women under Mission Sakti:-

With the help of Organization resources, we are continuing different types of services, i.e. Motivation camps, Awareness Camps, Treatment support, Food Support, family Counseling support for Divorced, Tortured Women and Red light areas women under Mission Sakti under Alipurduar District. Also we are supporting residential support free of cost keeping in mind for care & protection. Also we are rendering legal support through legal-aid services.

  • Livelihood Training for Scheduled Tribes:-

With the help of Organization resources, we are continuing different types of Livelihood training for self-employment for the Scheduled tribes, i.e. Motivation camps, Awareness Camps, choisable trades for self-sustained footing under Alipurduar District. Also we are supporting technical & viable support free of cost keeping in mind for self-employment.

  • Services for training & other  support services for Tribal:-

Alipurduar District is earmarked for tribal habitations. Rava, Koch, Mech & other categorized tribe’s people that belongs to Adim Janajati are thickly populated in this district. We are trying to support through different types of Tribal welfare programmes i.e motivation camp, Awareness camp, education support, livelihood support keeping in mind of Tribal welfare programmes of Govt. of India.

  • Implementation Support Agency (ISA) under JAL JEEVAN MISSION (JJM) :-

With the financial support of PHED, Govt. of West Bengal, we are engaged as ISA under Alipurduar District. As per JJM guideline, 49 (Forty Nine) staff are engaged in this project under 6(Six) Blocks under Alipurduar District through KREDA. Engaged staff are supporting to reach out the objectives of JJM that every house hold shall get 55 liters per day hygienic potable water through pipeline water supply within 2024. Different activities are doing through our side i.e. Base line survey, House hold FHTC visit, Meeting with executive Engineer, Astt. Engineer, Junior Engineer at district level, Block Development officers at Block Level, Panchayat Pradhan & VWSC committee members  at Gram Panchayat level, VHSNC committee members at village level.  Visit of Har Ghar Jal project, VAP preparation, Training, Inter- Personal communication, Attend in Gram Sabha meeting, IEC activities conducted at Schools, ICDS Centers, villages, Markets, Case study conducted. As ISA under JJM guideline, KREDA is performing different types of activities for the objectives of self- sustained project views and is organizing Users committee of pipe line water at each & every villages.
